You're standing at the Plovdiv Regional Ethnographic Museum, right in the heart of the Old Town. Start with the façade. It's perfectly symmetrical and covered in delicate floral patterns. This house was built in 1847 for a merchant called Argir Kuyumdzhioglu. He traded in homespun cloth and even ran a company in Vienna. The builder was Hadzhi Georgi, from the village of Kosovo in the Rhodope Mountains. The house is seen as a textbook example of Plovdiv's mid-nineteenth-century Baroque style.
