Laugharne Castle in Carmarthenshire

You're standing at Laugharne Castle, Castell Talacharn in Welsh. It sits right on the estuary of the River Tâf, with the water just below its walls. Take a close look at the stone. Most of it is red sandstone, but here and there you'll spot a greenish stone. Builders used it in the mid-fourteenth century, when they raised the walls and towers. So you can almost read the castle's history in its colours.
