You're standing in the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. Look around you: concrete, glass, arches and pools. It's like a set from a science fiction film. The whole complex sits in the old bed of the river Turia. After a catastrophic flood in 1957, the river was diverted, and the dry riverbed became a sunken park running right through the city.
