Kasteeltuinen Arcen in Venlo

You're standing at the Castle Gardens of Arcen, on the river Maas in the north of Limburg. Start with the castle itself. Today's Kasteel Arcen dates from the seventeenth century, built for the Duke of Guelders on the ruins of an older castle that had been destroyed. The very first castle stood a little further north and dates from 1275.
