You're standing in front of Palazzo Chiericati, a city palace designed by the famous architect Andrea Palladio. Have a look at the front. It's split into three sections, and the middle one sticks out just a little. Notice the two rows of columns stacked on top of each other? Down below you've got sturdy Doric columns, and above them the more elegant Ionic ones. Now look all the way up. A whole line of statues stands along the roof, gazing out over the square.
