You're standing at Canterbury Castle, or rather what's left of it. Look at those huge, ragged walls. This was once the great stone keep of a Norman castle. At the base it measures about 98 by 85 feet. It was probably at least 80 feet tall originally. Notice what it's made of? Mostly flint and rough chunks of sandstone, simply mortared together.
