Château du Rivau in Lémeré

You're standing at the Château du Rivau, in the little village of Lémeré in the Touraine. Take a good look at its shape. With its square keep, it recalls the fortified castles of the thirteenth century. That keep was once the heart of the defences. The castle was fortified in the fifteenth century, and during the Renaissance its owners turned it into a more comfortable home.
