You're standing at Bari Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Sabinus, a bishop of Canosa. It's older than the famous Basilica of Saint Nicholas nearby, but far less well known. Start with the façade. It's strikingly plain: three portals from the eleventh century, with a big rose window above them. Now look closely at the stone lintel over that window. It's carved with monsters and fantastic beasts. This is a textbook example of Apulian Romanesque.
