You're standing at Orford Castle, in the little coastal village of Orford in Suffolk. Take a good look at that tower. Inside it's round, but on the outside three rectangular towers jut out from it. There's no other keep in England quite like it. It stands about twenty-seven metres tall. Notice the pale finish? In 2022 the castle was coated in lime render to protect its crumbling stone.
