You're standing at Raglan Castle, just north of the village of Raglan in south-east Wales. First, look at that six-sided tower beyond the water. That's the Great Tower, also known as the Yellow Tower of Gwent. It stands apart from the rest of the castle, with its own moat. A whole wall is missing, and part of the top too. Still, you can see why visitors were impressed. Riding in from the village, you'd first see this tower appear over the rise of the hill, and only then the rest of the castle.
