Kloster Weltenburg in Kelheim

You're standing at Weltenburg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery just outside Kelheim. Have a look around. The Danube makes a big bend here, and the abbey sits right inside the loop, on a little peninsula. This stretch of the valley is called the Weltenburg Narrows, or the Danube Gorge, where the river squeezes through a tight passage.
