You're standing at dolmen D38, in a clearing in the Valtherbos woods, just north of Emmen. Have a look around: there isn't just one prehistoric tomb here, but three. D38 is the northernmost, with D39 and D40 as its neighbours. A fourth one, D39a, once stood nearby, but nothing of it survives.
