You're standing at Trim Castle, on the south bank of the River Boyne. This is the largest Norman castle in Ireland, spread over some thirty thousand square metres. Start with the massive tower in the middle. The keep has three storeys and a really unusual shape: a kind of cross, with no fewer than twenty corners. No other Norman keep was built quite like it.
