Burg Bernstein

You're standing at Bernstein Castle, high up in Austria's Burgenland, about 615 metres above sea level. In Hungarian it's called Borostyánkő. Take a look at the thick walls and the bastions that wrap around the castle like a ring. They weren't built for show. They were added to turn the castle into a refuge for dangerous times.
