You're standing on the Wapper in Antwerp, at the Rubenshuis. This is where Peter Paul Rubens lived and worked, the most famous painter of his day. Picture it four hundred years ago. This street was called the Vaartstraat back then, and it ran along a canal, the Herentalse Vaart. Water, boats, and right here the home of a painter who worked for kings.
