You're standing at Schloss Drachenburg, on the Drachenfels hill above Königswinter, on the Rhine just south of Bonn. Take a look at those turrets, pointed roofs and fancy gables. It looks like a fairy-tale castle, but don't be fooled. This is really a luxury villa dressed up as a palace. And it went up remarkably fast, in just two years, from 1882 to 1884. Outside it's mostly Gothic Revival, while inside the builders went for Neo-Renaissance.
