Church of the Holy Spirit in Heidelberg

You're standing on the Marktplatz in Heidelberg, next to the Church of the Holy Spirit, the biggest church in town. Notice the colour of the walls first. They're red sandstone, which gives the whole Gothic building a warm glow. Now look up. The roof and the top of the tower are Baroque, much younger than the rest. There's a dramatic story behind that.
