Archaeological site Lato in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

You're standing at the ruins of Lato, an ancient city on Crete, about three kilometres from the village of Kritsa. Take a look around first. The city sits between two peaks, and both of them became an acropolis, a fortified upper town. Now turn towards the sea. That's Mirabello Bay down there. You could hardly pick a better spot to defend a city and keep an eye on everything at the same time.
