You're standing at Kedleston Hall, a grand country house in Derbyshire, about six kilometres north-west of Derby. Start with the north front. It's well over a hundred metres long, and right in the middle stands a massive portico with six Corinthian columns. The house is really three blocks, joined by two curved corridors. The big central block was only for formal entertaining. The family lived in the east block, while the west block held the kitchens and the staff.
