You're standing on the hill of Epano Englianos in Messenia, a few kilometres south of the village of Chora. More than three thousand years ago, this was the site of the Palace of Nestor. Tradition says this is where the king from Homer's epics ruled over 'sandy Pylos'. In the Odyssey, Telemachus, son of Odysseus, comes here looking for news of his father.
