Château Lafite-Rothschild in Pauillac

You're standing at Château Lafite Rothschild, in Pauillac, in the Médoc northwest of Bordeaux. In front of you is one of the most famous wine estates in the world. Start with the house. The manor dates from the sixteenth century and it's still standing. All around it, rows of vines stretch as far as you can see. The estate covers 107 hectares, one of the largest in the Médoc.
