You're standing on Overtoun Bridge, a stone bridge just outside Dumbarton in Scotland. It carries the driveway that approaches Overtoun House from the west, the mansion at the end of the lane. Go ahead and peer over the edge, but carefully. Some fifteen metres below you, the Overtoun Burn runs through a steep ravine known as Spardie Linn.
