The MTB-Zandenwoud main route is a long mountain bike trail of just over 52 km across the Veluwe, in the municipalities of Apeldoorn and Barneveld. You ride through the Kootwijk forest, past Radio Kootwijk, and through the Hoenderloosche Bos, Bruggelen and Het Leesten. Three quarters is on unpaved forest and sand tracks, and with about 280 metres of climbing it is a hilly ride by Dutch standards. The trail runs anticlockwise. It lies on Staatsbosbeheer land. There are 17 benches along the way, but we know of no drinking water, toilets or bike pump, so bring enough with you.
