You're standing at the castle of Mequinenza, high on a hill above the town. First, look down. Three rivers meet right here: the Ebro, the Segre and the Cinca. Whoever held this hill controlled the rivers. The French later called the spot the strategic key to the Ebro. The castle also marks a border, the one between Aragon and Catalonia.
