You're standing at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, right on the edge of Roskilde Fjord. Take a look out over the water. In this very fjord, a little further up at Skuldelev, something clever happened around the year 1070. The locals deliberately sank five Viking ships in the most important shipping channel. That way, no enemy fleet could sail in from the sea and attack Roskilde.
