Hill of Crosses in Šiaulių rajonas

You're standing at the Hill of Crosses, about twelve kilometres north of the city of Šiauliai, in northern Lithuania. Take a look around. Crosses everywhere, big and small, packed tightly together. Between them hang rosaries, statues of the Virgin Mary and thousands of tiny figurines. Nobody knows exactly how many crosses there are. It's tens of thousands, at the very least.
