Fort Vaxholms Kastell

You're standing on Vaxholmen, a tiny island in the Stockholm archipelago. The whole island is covered by one thing: this fortress. Take a look at the water around you. This narrow, twisting channel is the Kodjupet strait. For centuries it was one of the two main routes from the open sea into the capital. Whoever guarded this spot kept Stockholm safe.
