Amorium in Emirdağ

You're standing at Amorium, or rather, at what's left of it. The remains of this ancient city lie under and around the village of Hisarköy, about thirteen kilometres east of Emirdağ. Take a look at the mound. Nature didn't make it. It's a höyük, a hill built up over centuries, layer upon layer, from the houses, walls and rubbish of the people who lived here. That's where the upper city stood.
