You're standing at Chlemoutsi, a medieval castle on a plateau 226 metres up in the northwest of the Peloponnese. First, turn around and take in the view. You can see the coastal plain of Elis, and on a clear day even the islands of Zakynthos and Cephalonia. That's exactly why the castle is here. Whoever held this hill could keep an eye on the whole region.
