You're standing at Bartek, the Bartek Oak, in the little village of Bartków near Zagnańsk, not far from Kielce in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. This is probably the most famous tree in all of Poland. Start by looking up. The oak is over thirty-three metres tall, and its crown spreads about forty metres across. That's a whole garden's worth of shade from a single tree.
