You're standing at Dun Carloway, on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis. That round stone tower in front of you is a broch, a building from the Iron Age. It sits on a rock on a steep slope, looking out over Loch Carloway. Have a look at the south side. The wall there still rises more than nine metres. Only Mousa Broch and Dun Telve stand taller, which makes this one of the highest brochs in the world. How tall it was originally, nobody knows.
