You're standing at the castle of Almodóvar del Río, about twenty-four kilometres from Córdoba, on the left bank of the Guadalquivir. Take a good look at the towers. The three most important ones each have a name: the Square Tower, the Round Tower and the Torre del Homenaje, the keep. In Arabic this place was called Hisnu-l-mudawar, the round castle. That's probably where the town got its name, too.
