Black lake in Žabljak Municipality

You're standing at Black Lake, or Crno jezero as they call it here. It sits on Mount Durmitor in northern Montenegro, more than fourteen hundred metres above sea level. A glacier carved this lake, and you can feel it in the landscape around you. Look at the peak rising above the water. That's Međed, and the lake lies right at its foot.
