You're standing by the Lousios, a small but wild river deep in the rugged heart of the Peloponnese. Take a look down at the water. It flows fast and it's treacherous. The Lousios is only a tributary of the Alfeios, yet it has carved out an impressive gorge. At its narrowest point it's almost three hundred metres deep. Follow the steep cliffs up with your eyes and notice how thickly forested the banks are.
