You're standing at Alalakh, also known as Tell Atchana, in the Amuq Valley in Turkey's Hatay Province, not far from Antakya, the old city of Antioch. Have a look around. That big, broad mound isn't a natural hill. It's made of the remains of a city that was built here, layer upon layer, in the Bronze Age.
