You're standing at Megara Hyblaea, the remains of one of the oldest Greek cities in Sicily. Today it's a quiet plain by the sea, just south of Augusta. But people lived here long before the Greeks arrived. First came a Stone Age settlement. Then the Sicels, who called the place Hybla, after their goddess.
