Dinefwr Castle in Carmarthenshire

You're standing at Dinefwr Castle, or Castell Dinefwr, as it's now called in English too. The ruin sits on a ridge above the River Towy, just outside the little town of Llandeilo. Take a look down. On the river side the ground drops a steep hundred feet to the water. You could hardly pick a better spot for a stronghold.
