You're standing at the Arch of Trajan in Benevento, one of the best preserved Roman triumphal arches anywhere. It's over fifteen metres tall, about eight and a half metres wide, and has just one passage. Take a look at that pale marble. The core is limestone, but the outside is clad in slabs of marble from the island of Paros.
