You're standing on the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, outside Moët & Chandon, the biggest champagne brand in the world. Start with the main building. That clean Art Deco block went up in the 1920s, after the destruction of the First World War. The façade proudly carries the year 1743, and by the entrance stands a statue of Dom Pérignon, the monk often called the spiritual father of champagne.
