You're standing at the Chêne chapelle in Allouville-Bellefosse, in Normandy. The name means chapel oak, and you can see why straight away. This is a real, living oak tree, and inside its trunk there are two chapels. Take a look at the tree first. It's about fifteen metres tall, and around the base the trunk measures some sixteen metres. Nobody knows its exact age. Estimates range from eight hundred to twelve hundred years.
