You're standing at Middleham Castle, in the village of Middleham in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. Take a look at that massive block of stone. It's a ruin, but most of the walls are still standing. Work began in 1190, under Robert Fitzrandolph, and the castle was meant to guard the road between Richmond and Skipton.
