You're standing at Sammezzano, also known as the Castle of Sammezzano. We're in Leccio, a hamlet of Reggello, not far from Florence. In the middle of Tuscany you might expect a stern medieval fortress. Instead, this palazzo is built in the Moorish Revival style, and it's one of the largest examples of it anywhere. It feels more like a dream of Andalusia or the Middle East than a Tuscan country house.
