Festung Aarburg

You're standing in Aarburg, and if you look up, you can't miss it: Aarburg Castle, perched high above the little town on a steep, rocky cliff. Now glance down at the river too. This is a narrow point on the Aare, and that's exactly why there's a castle here. Whoever held this rock could keep an eye on the trade route running north to south.
