You're standing at the Temple of Minerva in Assisi. Start with the front. Six tall columns with ornate Corinthian capitals hold up a beam and a small triangular pediment. This is genuine Roman work, more than two thousand years old. Originally the columns were covered in a very hard plaster, which may even have been painted. So picture it not in plain grey, but in colour.
