You're standing at Glücksburg Castle, one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. Notice how the building rises straight out of the water. It sits on a granite base two and a half metres high, right in the middle of a pond. At each corner stands an octagonal tower. It's really three houses side by side, each with its own roof. Under that white plaster is brick taken from the monastery that once stood here.
