Fragokastello in Municipality of Sfakia

You're standing at Frangokastello, a fortress on the south coast of Crete. Have a look around. Behind you rise the Kryoneritis mountains, in front of you lies the sea, and in between, on a small flat plain, sits this fort. Its shape couldn't be simpler: a rectangle with a tower at each corner. Now look above the main gate. You can still make out the remains of a Venetian coat of arms.
