You're standing at the Château de Pierrefonds, on the edge of the forest of Compiègne, north of Paris. Take a look at those round towers, the battlements and the massive walls. It's exactly what a medieval fortress should look like. But here's the twist: much of what you see was built in the nineteenth century.
