You're standing at Uraniborg, on the island of Ven in the Øresund, between Zealand and Scania. This was once home to one of the most famous observatories in history. King Frederick the Second of Denmark gave the island to the astronomer Tycho Brahe, and from 1576 Tycho had his observatory castle built here. It was the first observatory in modern Europe built specially for the purpose, and the last one without a telescope.
