You're standing at Kaunas Castle. It sits on a rise above the Nemunas River, right near the spot where the Neris flows into it. A clever place for a fortress: from here you could keep an eye on two rivers and the trade routes. Look at the round tower and the walls. What you see is only about a third of the original castle. For long stretches of wall, just the foundations are left.
