You're standing on the rim of Kerið, a volcanic crater in south Iceland, right on the Golden Circle route. Take a look down. In front of you is an oval bowl, about 170 by 270 metres and 55 metres deep. At the bottom sits a small lake in a striking aquamarine colour. That colour comes from minerals in the soil around it.
